Question 1

What is TeachAI?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI is a curriculum-aligned AI platform for teachers and schools. It helps you plan lessons and units, create resources and assessments, mark pupils' work and write reports, all built around the curriculum or exam board you teach.

Question 2

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Create a free account, tell us which curriculum and year groups you teach, and set up your first class. No credit card is needed for the free plan. Schools that want to roll TeachAI out to several teachers can contact us to discuss a school licence.

Question 3

How much does TeachAI cost?

Accepted Answer

There is a free plan for trying TeachAI, a paid plan for individual teachers, and school licences for whole departments or schools. Paid plans include a monthly usage allowance rather than unlimited use. Current prices are on our pricing page.

Question 4

Which curricula, subjects and year groups are supported?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI covers early years through to the end of secondary school. It supports many national curricula and exam boards, including the IB (PYP, MYP and DP), Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR, AP, the National Curriculum for England, Common Core, NGSS, Texas TEKS, HKDSE and Vietnam's national curriculum. Depth of support varies by board and subject, so choose your board when you set up a class and TeachAI will show what is available.

Question 5

Do I need technical skills to use TeachAI?

Accepted Answer

No. You describe what you need in everyday language, and every result can be edited before you use it.

Question 6

What can TeachAI create?

Accepted Answer

Lesson and unit plans, slide decks, worksheets, quizzes, exam-style practice papers with mark schemes, knowledge organisers, flashcards, differentiated resources, pupil reports and more.

Question 7

How does TeachAI keep content aligned to my curriculum?

Accepted Answer

When you set up a class you choose its curriculum or exam board, subject and year group. For supported boards, TeachAI uses the published curriculum documents and specifications as reference material, so plans and assessments follow that board's structure and terminology. AI output can still contain mistakes, so please review content before using it with pupils.

Question 8

Can TeachAI mark pupils' work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TeachAI can suggest marks and written feedback against a mark scheme or rubric, including for uploaded handwritten scripts. Marks are suggestions: the teacher reviews, edits and decides what is released to pupils and parents.

Question 9

Can I use my own materials?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can upload documents such as PDFs and Word files, or add a YouTube link, and TeachAI can build quizzes, summaries or lessons from that material. Only upload material you have the right to use.

Question 10

What are the redaction tools?

Accepted Answer

The redaction tools help you remove or blur personal information in documents, images and audio before you share them, for example names on a pupil's work used as an exemplar.

Question 11

Can I export what I create?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Depending on the tool, you can export to PDF, Word or PowerPoint, or share directly with your classes.

Question 12

How does TeachAI help with differentiation?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI can produce versions of the same resource at different levels of challenge, add scaffolds and alternative explanations, and adapt materials for pupils with additional needs.

Question 13

Can TeachAI support pupils with special educational needs (SEN)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can ask for simplified language, step-by-step instructions, visual supports and other adjustments. Avoid entering diagnoses or other sensitive details about individual pupils unless your school has approved it.

Question 14

How does TeachAI support assessment?

Accepted Answer

You can create quizzes, exam-style papers with mark schemes, and short and extended response questions, then assign them to classes and see results by pupil and by curriculum objective.

Question 15

Can parents use TeachAI?

Accepted Answer

Schools can invite parents to the parent portal. Each school decides what parents can see, such as grades or attendance, and parents only ever see their own children.

Question 16

How is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256). Each school's data is kept separate by organisation-level access rules, and role-based permissions control what teachers, leaders, pupils and parents can see. Our Trust & Privacy page sets out these controls in detail.

Question 17

Do you share data with third parties?

Accepted Answer

We use a small number of service providers (sub-processors) to run TeachAI, including cloud hosting, AI model providers, payments and email. They process data only to provide their part of the service. AI features send the content needed for the task to an AI provider; for pupil reports and AI marking this can include pupil names and performance data. We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising. The full list of sub-processors is in our privacy policy.

Question 18

Is my content or pupil data used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI does not use school data to train AI models.

Question 19

Who is responsible for pupil data?

Accepted Answer

For data a school enters, such as pupil records, grades and parent contacts, the school is the data controller and TeachAI processes that data on the school's instructions. A Data Processing Agreement is available for schools on request.

Question 20

Where is data stored?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI runs on Google Cloud and Vercel, and data is currently stored and processed in the United States. If your school needs details about data location or international transfer safeguards, email trust@teachai.io.

Question 21

Can children use TeachAI?

Accepted Answer

Pupils cannot sign up on their own. Pupil accounts, including for children under 13, are created by their school, and the school is responsible for any notice to or consent from parents. Pupils see only their own work.

Question 22

How do I delete my account or request my data?

Accepted Answer

You can delete your account from your account settings. For pupil or parent data held by a school, contact the school first, as it controls that data. You can also email trust@teachai.io to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data; we respond within 30 days.

Question 23

How do I reset my password?

Accepted Answer

Select 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page and enter your email address. We will email you a link to set a new password.

Question 24

Can I change the email address on my account?

Accepted Answer

Email support@teachai.io from the address currently on your account and tell us the new address you would like to use.

Question 25

Can several teachers share one account?

Accepted Answer

No. Each account is for one person, which keeps pupil data secure. Schools that want access for several teachers can use a school licence, with accounts managed by the school's administrators.

Question 26

Which browsers are supported?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.

Question 27

Is there a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

TeachAI is a web app. There is no app to install; it works in the browser on phones and tablets as well as computers.
